The National Centre for Rural Development and Durable Solutions (NCRDS) leads initiatives addressing internal displacement throughout Somalia. In 2024, the organization conducted comprehensive durable solutions pathways consultations across all federal member states and the Banadir Regional Administration (BRA), culminating in the development of the National Solutions Pathways Action Plan.
These consultations sought to identify effective approaches for enabling one million Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to achieve durable solutions from their displacement circumstances. This initiative aligns with the National Durable Solutions Strategy, the National Transformation Plan, and the United Nations Secretary-General’s Action Agenda on Internal Displacement, focusing on three interlinked objectives: realizing durable solutions, ensuring protection and assistance, and preventing future displacement.
This information product was created under the Internal Displacement Solutions Fund (IDSF), a collaborative program dedicated to supporting government-led solutions. The data presented throughout the report is derived from the DSP Survey, supplemented with protection and conflict sensitivity analysis from UNHCR’s continuous monitoring activities.
