Global news agencies reported that the European Union has committed €63 million in humanitarian funding to support Somalia’s most at-risk communities, addressing hunger, malnutrition, and displacement issues.

These reports highlighted that the assistance seeks to counter the effects of persistent conflict and deteriorating drought circumstances, resulting in elevated food costs and leaving about 6.5 million people experiencing severe food insecurity.

Based on the EU statement as covered by international media, the financial allocation will focus on essential health and nutrition programs, treatment for critical malnutrition cases, provision of clean water, sanitation facilities, and urgent educational support.
