Hargeisa — Somaliland’s Ministry of Education and Science has unveiled a new Climate Smart Education System Initiative 2025, aiming to integrate environmental awareness, resilience, and sustainability into the national curriculum.
The program seeks to equip students and teachers with practical skills to tackle climate change and promote green solutions at all school levels.
The initiative, supported by local and international partners, will involve teacher training, curriculum reform, and school-based green projects.
Education officials say it will help youth understand climate risks, conserve natural resources, and adopt sustainable practices for future generations.
The Climate Smart Education System Initiative 2025 reflects Somaliland’s commitment to building an environmentally conscious society as part of its long-term development goals.
