MOGADISHU The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) has released its annual Qurbani project for 1447H across Somalia, delivering aid to Kahda district in Mogadishu and Towfiq district in Baidoa.

An official statement from the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) confirmed that 1,000 sacrificial meats were distributed directly to displaced families and the most vulnerable socio-economic groups in the targeted districts.

The initiative successfully reached approximately 24,000 vulnerable individuals, helping to address temporary food insecurity and bring Eid joy to disadvantaged households in difficult living conditions across these regions.

This food assistance reflects the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ongoing commitment through KSrelief to support the Somali people and ease the burdens on families living in displacement camps and remote rural communities.

The campaign also seeks to strengthen social cohesion and Islamic humanitarian solidarity during Eid Al-Adha through direct relief channels ensuring assistance meets high international standards.

Reports emphasized the strategic relief partnerships between international humanitarian bodies and Somali authorities, ensuring aid sustainability and improving field coordination to meet the growing needs of vulnerable communities throughout Somalia.

Seasonal humanitarian assistance from KSrelief serves as a key support for social safety nets in Somalia, especially during prolonged crises affecting food security for displaced and impoverished households. This assistance takes on special significance during religious occasions like Eid Al-Adha, going beyond immediate material aid to build regional solidarity and partnership between Saudi Arabia and Somalia. The expanded distribution to include Banadir region and South West State showcases KSrelief’s ability to reach highly vulnerable populations, strengthening community resilience and reducing economic pressures.
