The Minister of Environment and Climate Change, Lt. Gen. Bashiir Mohamed Jama, participated in the Ugbaad Project Inception Workshop, alongside key stakeholders.
These included the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), Green Climate Fund (GCF), the federal Ministry of Agriculture, federal member state ministers, and senior officials.
The workshop sought to strengthen collaboration for climate-resilient agriculture across Somalia.
Jama highlighted the critical need for direct support to Somali farmers to enhance agricultural productivity, build climate resilience, and protect the environment.
The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of the Ugbaad initiative, a vital step toward securing Somalia’s food security and environmental future.
